2002 - Weapons/Armor

My armor finally came! I waited a long time for it, since I had ordered it in
early January. Of course, Pixel has to investigate everything, especially if
I'm taking a picture of it.

I finally managed to wear full plate armour to the RenFest! This past winter I
ordered it, and during the summer months a friend helped me to fit and adjust
it. Two days before htis picture, I had finally put in the grommets I needed
to wear the pauldrons (shoulder pieces), and so this was my second day at faire
with my armour.
And talk about suffering for one's art... Armour is definitely that. Whether it's
chainmaille or plate, 50+ pounds of steel can be painful by the end of the day.

Here we see Phil demonstrating the use of my Flamberge. This is the really
big nasty functional flamberge. It's about 6'3" from tip to pommel. Huge
sword.

One of my weapons tables, in my booth at the VA RenFest. I didn't sell much,
but it was a new and interesting experience.
