My helm in its off-season resting place. For some reason, sitting it over the fireplace
caused it to rust so much faster than its previous storage location (the floor). It's a
ventless gas fireplace, so I have no idea what the difference is.
Anyway, this is right after shining it back up again in preparation for the renfaire season.

Very inexpensive practice swords, made from shinai by adding PVC pipe parts for a crossguard,
and some foam rolled up into a thrusting tip. They're cheap, they're ugly, but they're
fairly safe to work with and make a great inexpensive way for newbies to get started.

Brand new Albion Meyer next to my older, broken one. My old one lasted about 5 years,
but took one too many harsh bends, and broke while I was re-straightening it back in
June. It's better that it break while I'm fixing it, than in the next fight! It was
just a wear-and-tear issue in this case, and not an improper temper or rust invading
a crack, since the split looked really clean.
